DepEd-CLSU Elementary (Lab.) School is a public school located inside the University of Central Luzon State University, Science City of Munoz Nueva Ecija. Through the memorandum of Understanding between the Bureau of Public School (BSP) and the Central Luzon State University (CLSU) the BPS-CLSU Elementary (Lab.) School was opened on July 13, 1970. It was soon named MEC III – CLSU and then DECS – CLSU.
Now, its current name is DepEd – CLSU Elementary (Lab.) School. Under the contract between the Bureau of Education and the university, the school would be supervised and administered by the Schools Division Superintendent by Nueva Ecija and it was CLSU who would provide all the facilities and equipment needed by the school that the BSP could not be provided. The school started with combination classes I-II and III-IV. Two rooms under the CLSU grandstand were used as classrooms. Another room was used as a school clinic and library. It started only two teachers from Bagong Sikat Elementary School and the other two peace corps volunteers were assigned to teach English and Mathematics in elementary.
Through the efforts of CLSU President Amado C. Corpuz, the College of Education , Dean Professor Conchita m. Chruz, the first lady of the university, Dr. Filomena Campos, Governor Eduardo L. Joson, and Mr. Prescilliano Evamgelista, an alumnus of the university, the following year, the Grade 5 class was organized in 1972 – 1973; until the school became a complete elementary.
There are currently 580 students enrolled at DepEd CLSU Elementary (Lab.) School, comprising 297 male students enrolled from kindergarten to grade 6 and 283 female students.Bantug is a barangay in the city of Muñoz, in the province of Nueva Ecija.
